THE SNACK ARCADE
Challenge
Events DC (Washington's sports, entertainment & tourism authority) approached Exactly for help in expanding the appeal of their International City Food Festival. They wanted something that was family friendly, deeply share-able, gender-less in its appeal, and didn't rely on complex food preparation.
Solution
Bringing back the nostalgia of the 90s for parents, and lo-fi fun for the kids - we brought to the table The Snack Arcade, anchored in Snack, a hungry planet character who is working his way through snacks from all seven continents. The final product was exactly what the title promised: an immersive, throw-back arcade, crossed with a super-market sweep energy where everyone could win and try snacks from around the world. We further world built through animations, merch and little experiential easter eggs. Bonus points for anyone who got the Hackers pun from the title.
Results
Over the course of three days over 2000 people made their way through the 600 sq ft. space with the line never seizing to wrap around the block. Extensive earned media ranged from Washington Post to morning shows, and the social media impressions were in the 100s of millions.
